A cancer patient’s pals at his local pub are going to cycle from The Daisy Building at Castle Hill Hospital, Cottingham, to The Valliant pub in Grimsby to raise funds for ground-breaking facilities being funded by the charity.

Tony Hunter from Grimsby was diagnosed with mouth cancer and is currently receiving treatment following a PET-CT scan at the Daisy Appeal funded Jack Brignall PET-CT Scanning Centre.

Close friend Paul Parker has put together a team of cyclists who will be undertaking a 40-mile bike ride this coming Saturday, 10 March 2018. The cyclists will depart from The Daisy Building at 9.00 a.m. and cycle to The Valiant Pub in Grimby.  The team comprises regulars from The Valiant Pub; Mikey Smith, Shaun Dobson, Paul Parker, Matt Thompson, Sophie Barbour, Sean Dobbs, Daz Bloomfield, Billy Wilson, Scott Barber, Matt Page and Dean Fletcher ‘pieman’. As well as supporting Tony the team will also be remembering other close friends who have received treatment at Castle Hill for cancer treatment but who have since passed away.

Donations of support can be made via The Daisy Appeal website www.daisyappeal.org or in person at The Valiant Pub.

Following the bike ride there will be entertainment and more events at the pub on Wingate Road in Grimsby namely; a singer, sponsored leg wax, raffle, DJ playing eighties hits, karaoke and buffet.
