Category

We would like to give our grateful thanks to Daisy Appeal trustee and supporter, Assem Allam, who has sadly died at the age of 83.

Dr Allam, who has been a trustee of the Daisy Appeal since 2010, will be sadly missed by all of the team.

He has made numerous financial contributions towards Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital, and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, creating a research and treatment centre for diabetes for Hull Royal Infirmary and Molecular Imaging Research Centre on the Castle Hill Hospital site.

Daisy Appeal Chairman, Professor Nick Stafford OBE, said: "We share Assem's belief that we must invest in research and development to develop new and innovative treatments for patients.

"We thank him for the healthcare legacy he leaves and the outstanding contribution he has made to the improvement of health facilities in the local area. His legacy has helped us to provide world-class treatment and research facilities to thousands of people in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. We will miss him dearly."
